4-star lakeside hotel on the shores of Lough Ennell in Mullingar

Lakeside Setting and Dining

Bloomfield House Hotel sits directly on the shores of Lough Ennell, with gardens and a private jetty on the property. The hotel's Charles Brinsley Restaurant serves dinner with views of the lake, while the Bloomfield Bar & Grill offers a more casual menu and outdoor dining in good weather. Guests can walk the short path to the lakeside jetty or explore the surrounding parkland that links to Belvedere House and Gardens next door.

Leisure Club & Spa

The on-site Leisure Club has a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam room, and an air-conditioned gym. The Bloomfield Spa offers treatments from the Germaine de Capuccini line, including facials, massages, body wraps, and manicures. Spa packages and wellness packages are available, and the spa lounge provides a relaxation area before or after treatments.

Accommodation

Guest rooms are spread over three floors, with lake-view rooms offering direct sightlines over Lough Ennell and the gardens. The hotel has family rooms with two double beds, suites with separate living areas, and accessible rooms with walk-in showers. All rooms include a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and a tea and coffee maker, with some suites featuring a freestanding bath.

Family and Children's Activities

The hotel operates a Dedicated Kids Club with supervised activities, a children's playground, and kids' outdoor play equipment on the grounds. Evening entertainment includes live music and performances, and the bar offers a children's menu with kids' meals. Bicycle rental is available for exploring the grounds, and the hotel can arrange babysitting and child services upon request.

Location and Nearby Attractions

Mullingar town centre is 3 km away, and Dublin is a one-hour drive via the M4 motorway. Three historic attractions are within 15 minutes: Belvedere House and Gardens, Kilbeggan Distillery (Ireland's oldest licensed whiskey distillery), and the medieval ruins of Fore Abbey. The hotel provides free parking with an electric vehicle charging station, and guests receive a complimentary day pass to Belvedere House and Gardens.
